Independence County Sex Offender Registry

The Arkansas Sex Offender Registry is run by ACIC. Search by address, city, county, ZIP, or name. The map view shows level 3 and level 4 offenders near a Batesville, Cushman, or Pleasant Plains address. Levels 1 and 2 are not mapped. Under Ark. Code Ann. § 12-12-903, Arkansas uses four risk levels. Level 4 is described as a sexually violent predator. Level 4 offenders re-register every three months. Levels 1 through 3 re-register every six months.

Independence County FOIA Rules

The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act at Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-101 et seq. is the bedrock access law. It says public records shall be open to inspection and copying by any Arkansas citizen during business hours. Agencies have three business days to respond. Fees cannot be more than actual reproduction cost.

Sealing Independence County Arrest Records

Arkansas uses "seal" where many states say "expunge." The Comprehensive Criminal Record Sealing Act of 2013 lives at Ark. Code Ann. § 16-90-1401.
